We ended up with around 180 pounds of processed meat for the 2 animals I think. Took 2 days to make all of our burger, brats, smoked game sticks and breakfast sausage. Still have to clean and go through all the hunting gear. It's still not over! And we stashed our wheelers in the mountains a month before the hunt. You can use them the last 2 days. So we hiked in 4 days before the motorized days so we didn't have competition. Then used the four wheelers to get everything out. Still had to make multiple trips

Nice work kwack! Looks like a hell of an adventure.

I’ll be up in your hood next week. Sounds like that fire around coppers landing is pretty intense. Might cause issues for our plans to head out on the salt out of Seward and might have to fish homer instead. Any word on the halibut bite?

You should be able to get to seward. cooper landing is on the sterling hwy and seward is at the end of the seward highway. The sterling hwy goes to homer and its been open and closed off and on depending on the fire. I havent been out fishing since late july. We caught a couple nice ones in the kelp and and few 30 pounders 5 miles off the end of the spit in 50 feet of water. supposed to go to homer next weekend to drag the boat home but i am not sure if i am going to go with the road closures.

Checking out the sharpie population and doing a little practice hunting with the dogs. Seemed like a good hatch but coveys were smaller than last year. Not the most stylish point but he gets it done.

My contribution: A giant softshell I hooked by the foot yesterday. The thing was about 2' by 2' and like all softshells absolutely disgusting. The things have alien skin.....

Rock bass are the most underrated and wrongfully scorned fish there is.

Guys go gaga for crappies and "big sunfish," yet look down on rock bass???

Uh, what do people think they are?

They're a large, bigger, better panfish. They're like a bluegill on steroids with thicker fillets that taste every bit as good if not better....they're like if a smallmouth and sunfish had a love child.

They're awesome.

Had the good fortune of driving past a nice coon leaving town....fur is prime....going to case skin and tan it.

We always keep rock bass...I don't really eat any fish but my dad loves it. He fillets up largemouths left and right too. Loves like even though he can't clean them he just pulls the bones out if his mouth

Canoe yoke my brother in law cut out for me. Fitted it to the boat about 3 months ago but just now sanded it down. Realizing I only have 2 weeks to do projects that require “drying”
