I heard 2 weeks ago that a resort pulled all their FHs off and were heading to LOTW with them due to so much slush.
I think that there is your que.... head further N to LOTW. Maybe takes a 4 day weekend with a couple more guys and go up there, just a suggestion.

I just really ain’t tryna burn PTO for ice fishing otherwise I would probably be looking to go to LOTW, Devils or one of them SD lakes in the Webster area.

I can go get skunked on any lake, don’t wanna drive to Red for it and be wet and miserable the whole time.

They're trying to pass disaster funding for resorts on Winnie, Red, etc. Slush this year has fukced them that badly.

I mean, it's total bullshit to expect disaster relief.....just goes to show you most resorts/guides are degenerates.

Uh....hmmmm....let's see.....you've had this resort for 25+ years. You work in an industry that's hunting and/or fishing related, and as anyone who's hunted or fished more than a few times knows.....success can be a fickle bitch often times, even despite the best and most prepared planning ever.....


.....so why don't these resorts have some 'Rainy Day Fund' money stashed away knowing that a year like this....a couple years.....is an inevitability versus a probability??.

We didn’t get skunked but it has been slow. 4 keeper walleyes and 3 jumbo perch, hoping to start heading out soon. Next year I won’t commit to wacky ideas before doing research, lesson learned. Still feels good to get out of the metro, I fuggin hate the cities.

So this is some wack bullshit that pissed me off yesterday.

My buddy says we are gonna get a discount on account of knowing the resort owner and helping the resort owners son a ton over the years and giving him free rent. He says it’s gonna be half off, so driving up for one night is gonna be $60 between me and and my GF.

I get up there, and my buddy says it’s probably gonna be free cause of all the help he’s given the resort son, and I think of that’s super cool and my buddy kinda has this **** attitude like he’s hooking us up and is doing us this big favor.

So we are gonna leave on Sunday, and I tell my buddy let me know what you get charged and he says “you can just stop at the office on the way out and see what they think you owe”. My buddy says this cause he too lazy to figure out how Venmo or PayPal works.

Well we stop on the way out, the resort owner charges us full price for one night in an ice house. $120! Man I get why it’s that expensive there’s a lot of work involved but damn I’d never have gone up there if I knew I was gonna have to pay that.

What really fuggin pissed me off, is since my buddy was “hooking us up” I let him have all the fish my and gf caught. But we did not get hooked up.
