Due to the blizzard on Saturday I only fished the last hour of day light and my bro-in-law came out. We caught 11 and he had a monster break me off. It was bam, bam, bam....we had a fish on at all times it seemed like. We got a couple while just letting our line out. I decided to fish with only three rods out due to my bro-in-law being by the books, but still cool. We had a 23" tangled us up, and after getting that fish in the boat again we both starting pulling in one of the lines and I thought we were still wrapped up (leadcore) nope...fish on both lines. It was just lights out. It's amazing how you get dialed in as the season progresses but opener night not having had the telling ride our for six months everything felt weird...kept thinking this line might have had shit on it....stuff like that.
We had 17 people up at the cabin and even my brother and sister in law who are pretty liberal came up with their kids. I was a little surprised to see them in the driveway....even they...as Walz supporters were like, "fukc all this covid bullshit."
Sunday night it was not as shitty as Saturday but pretty close....windy as hell and spitting a bit versus wind howling out of the East and snowing the day before.
I went out Sunday for the last hour fishing solo....I caught seven, threw two back....one I caught like 30yds in front of another boat with like five dudes watching me.....of course came in on my rod on the side of the boat facing them....netting it right as close as I got on my trolling rod....then caught one right in front of the landing as I was pulling the other line in....so didn't want to push it and threw those two back but kept the other five....because my mom likes fresh walleye and it was mother's day.....
