No Goby stocking.....yet. With the big fish out of the lake and back in check....i.e. a percentage of the population they should be at, and this leading to more perch and better distribution of year classes.....I've decided to wait on the Goby stocking and let things play out. On one hand it'd be the perfect year for stocking since the abundant forage would mean even only a handful would make it, but trying to be cautious and glass half-full.....maybe the DNR & bands will realize a big part of the problem has been too many big walleyes in the lake.
We'll see. They've had plenty of obvious shit bite them in the face before without learning a fukcing thing so I'm probably being fool-hearted to think anything will ever change from a management perspective. In a couple years once the 2013's are big and skinny and the perch are once again decimated.....I'll probably regret not stocking Gobies....I dunno....can always stock them later but can't unstock them.
More than anything I've had my time eaten up by the most recent split tail....haven't had time to do any Goby collecting/stocking. It's been a pretty shitty year for fishing by all accounts....other than ice fishing I guess.
Nice Skee!!
