It was a blue trevalle I think a pompano is slightly different? Headed to anna maria island next year for 2 weeks and plan on venturing out and doing some spear fishing. Hopefully I can find some jail birds (sheeps head) like you caught! Going to pick up a travel hawaiian sling/pole spear

I got the hen houses up. 6’ posts and just over 3’ of ice. I got some tan/brown outdoor carpet and wrapped the houses with it, I got sick of doing the straw so I’ll see how this works. They still have straw stuffed inside them.

I am surprised you have 3 feet of ice. That’s about a foot more than we have in northern mn. Not calling you a liar, just saying.

What’s your success rate with hen houses? I have never had one used by waterfowl but I only had a couple that were only maintained about 5 years so small sample size. I have had much better luck with wood duck boxes.

I drilled some holes last week. I bet we were pushing close to 3 ft in the south metro. I was up to the foam portion of the K Drill, however long that is.
